How do I get over the completely stock overarching story and the completely black and white morality? I still want to complete the original campaign one day simply because the game has fed my build autism for so many hours, but I've already dropped it three times because 80% of it is just so ass and uninteresting.

What are the best modules for the first one?

The only one I've tried so far is demonheart which was like ADWR but with a more extensive use of graphic mods and a fanfic tier storyline (though clearly somebody liked it because I heard it was made into a VN). There's also "a dance with spies" which is apparently like adwr but with a male protag.

By then Bioware which was largely responsible for most of known D&D games decided to try its hand at original setting as not to be limited by licenses
There clearly is still more than enough audience for D&D games though, D&D is renowned worldwide
What's ironic is that 4e is often criticized for being too much videogamey, yet we didn't get a single game out of it
Sword Coast Chronicles was *some* effort in the right direction but in the end it was far too limited and had almost fuckall to do with the actual rules

Swordflight is fucking great but the creator tries too hard on the 'hardcore' aspect. Still a bunch of fun though, especially the first 2 episodes. Never finished the third episode because it's kind of shit compared to the first two.

By the wall's rules, it doesn't matter if you were a righteous, paladin like man in life, you are still going to get walled and face a fate actually worse than death for the sole reason you didn't worship a god. Mind you most gods in FR are fucking manchildren prone to fits and petty behavior, including good aligned ones. Others just delight in causing destruction and wrecking handom havock

Also that is far from the natural order, it's stated Myrkul had it built, not to mention before the Time of Troubles the number of worshippers didn't matter shit to a god. And the fact other settings like Dragonlance don't have a wall yet mortals still worship the gods just fine
