Did anyone else play Lord of the rings third age on the GBA ? Good top-down tactics game, never heard anyone else mention it.
>>
>>384999282

Tits aside, it's a great game with really memorable atmosphere and locations. Pretty sure the last time I played it was 1999, and I was a video of it recently and I distinctly remembered all the areas. Kinda like MYST.

Terracon PS1

also some 3D adventure game i played once and passed in one sitting, it was pretty shitty and i got it from the supermarket. it was during the Gta vc era. the game was set in some setting like asterix and obelix, you just get from start of level to end, pretty sure there were no enemies. Levels i remember: dark forest wwith caves and mushrooms, city, outside of city with siege engines and wooden barricades

I had this freeware game that came on one of those PC mag disks, must've been from early 00s, possibly late 90s. You were some kung-fu dude standing on a pillar and you had paintballs thrown at you from different directions which you had to judo chop at the right moment. As the levels progressed the paintballs became different objects. I remember one level they were different kinds of bacteria and microbes and shit, and another level they were planets. Played the shit out of that game but I don't think I'll ever see it again.

I never played Dark Earth, but I remember reading previews for it couple of years before it was released. I remember - outside of being fascinated by the tits - to find the visuals absolutely amazing.

Only like ten years later I've recalled that preview while watching Angel's Egg and realizing how much the original art direction ripped it off.
That said, looking up the actual completed game footage and screens, they toned it down a lot between the preview and final release.

>>384999237
I'm pretty sure this is the right place to ask.

About 18 years ago, I had a Shareware game called "Anno 1600" (I think that was the year) that had basically nothing to do with the Anno series as such. It was a German game where you could basically do stuff you can do in the Patrician series: Marry, trade, build up production facilities; some of these were a salt mine and an art gallery that would get you income. If you committed a crime, you would be put in front of a jury of five that would plead either guilty or not guilty and you would get a sentence that could also be death. The "combat scenes" when you raided other ships consisted of a shitty shooting gallery where the other ships would mildly insult you if you missed. The wifes you could marry were basically divided into classes (Princess, merchant, poor) and to marry the princess you had to own a castle. The only restriction in the shareware version was that you could not save.

...I know it's a long shot, but has anyone seen it / even played it? I'm pretty sure it's atrocious, but I'd like to confirm for myself that I'm not insane.

I remember one of the Peter Gabriel games (which actually were less games than what most people on /v/ would ever call a game today) containing images of naked man and naked woman. I played it when I was about seven or eight, I think.
That is literally all I remember from it. Some sunflower images and a full frontal picture of a naked woman with a bush.

Well, my parents were entirely European so they just did not give two fucks. Hell, we had books of Saudek's photography just lying around the flat. I think it was the oddity of seeing nudity in a game that stuck with me more than the nudity itself. It was super unusual context. I do remember the game felt super confusing to me in general.
Man, I nearly forgot about it's existence.

I played a demo for a game once. Can't remember the name of it, and I've never heard anyone talking about it.

I swear I once had a CD-ROM game called "The battle for the golden cheese" a long time ago. It was apparently published by a swedish cheese company for a campaign they were running at the time.

It was just a collection of simple minigames that would never end. Pic related is one i remember in particular, you control the guy in the center and try to cut incoming
cabbages that fly at you from either sides of the screen. Eventually there'd be so many cabbages coming at you that it'd be impossible to block them all and it would just kill you.
It was pretty shit but I had fun with it at the time.

There's no footage of it online, but I know it exists because it's recorded in the swedish media database.

OK, this is a long shot and I don't expect anything to come out of it, but...

I remember playing a small, free game that was clearly inspired by Tonari no Totoro, but it wasn't licensed. It was based on the scene where Mei runs around the garden, chasing the small Totoro-like demon spawns...
You played a very Mei-like girl, from top-down perspective, running around collecting nuts and shit. For score, you could buy new outfits for the girl.

I know there is basically zero chance anyone knows the damn game, much less it being playable again. But I do know it existed, and being weirdly, hypnotisingly fun to play. And god damn I have an urge to play it again...

A collection of shareware games for Windows 95 that I downloaded off the internet.
They all ran in a tiny-ass window with a white or a black background.

Janky, but fun as shit. I liked how the tech tree worked, you researched new technologies to counter the enemy by observing the enemy tech at work in the battlefield.

One of my all time favs. Terrible game to be honest, but such a nostalgia value for me. Needs a remake or sequel desu. So much possibility. The bullgut rocket launcher was so fucking anime it hurt.

I actually played it. Back in the day, I was bored of all my games and decided to try it. My father had bought it for my sister but she played 2 sec and never touched it again.

I kinda liked the game I think, it's like Tomb Raider with Barbie.

I honestly can't remember. I was 8 or 9 when it came out. I remember it being a standard point & click, but it was pretty difficulty for me then.

I wanna dig up a copy and try it out now.
