>modern devs cant even emulate this with modern grafics
Just started playing this on the weekend, forgot how fun it was. Also theres a unnoficial 1.4 patch on moddb, should I bother?
>>384998383
I wish we just had freelancer with modern graphics and some gameplay tweaks instead of scam citizen. Can you imagine Juni with actual graphics?
>>384997154
Never played this. How much time should I set aside in my schedule to beat it?
>>384998717
I'd say the main plot takes about 10 hours, but you'll have downtime between story missions to do side stuff and upgrade your gear, so anywhere between 20 and 30 hours, or even more if you go around exploring. I think I had about 30 when I first finished the game (you can continue playing after you finish the main story though).
>>384997154
I miss the multiplayer and the BR world.

I tried to complete Freelancer at one point, but one of the later story missions bugged out and was uncompletable, so I gave up on it. Maybe I'll give it another chance.
>>385000361
It can happen occasionally, enemies not spawning, game not registering that you destroyed something, coordinates fucking up. But it was pretty rare for me.
>>384997154

Freelancer Man, you're cool. Do you include the multiplayer fix so we can all play together? Or is it all on the same CD key?
>>384997154
is this game good. Can i be a smuggler?
freelancer is shit and boring
>>385001028
It is a very solid game, but has its flaws. Most of them derive from the game being rushed and developers shuffling in and out. But the end result is a blast to play through.
You can be a smuggler but the most that will ever happen is that you're scanned by police and given the choice to drop the cargo or fight. If you fight, you'll be reducing your reputation with the police and government factions (and raising criminal respect).
The real fun is in the combat and finding new ships and equipping them.
This is Kusari police, Sakura-18 to Freelancer Alpha One Dash One I'm commencing a scan on your link for contraband.
You're all clear, nothing unusual.

YOUR REQUEST FOR DOCK IS GRANTED
>>384997154
Thanks
>>385001174
Actually the game was in development hell for ages so I wouldn't say it was rushed.
Seriously if it wasn't for Microsoft Game Studios at the time this game would still not be released. Roberts talks big but he rarely delivers.
Fun game though but not really a classic.

>Discovery is (effectively) dead
DANGERRADIATION DAMAGE DETECTED
>>384997154
Thanks freelancer man
>>385001692
Well you'd be fucking wrong, you dumb nigger.
The game was bounced around between brains for a while before getting shunted out the door. Microsoft Games mismanaged their talent and Chris Roberts mismanaged his ambition. The end result was Microsoft just trying to get something playable out the door, which is what they did.
You dumb fucking kikemongler. You stupid faggot.
