/v/ has been my "vidya forum" since 2004.

Prior to that, I used to be on GameFAQs a lot. /v/ has always served the purpose of being here for any video game discussion.

Nowadays any non-conventional /v/ opinion will be showered with ``you are reddit, you are newfag, you are phoneposter, this is bait!" replies.

This used to happen to some extent in the past but today you can't say anything without being called reddit, even if your opinion has nothing to do with reddit at all.

There are no knowledgeable people here, the ``discussion" is just namecalling with random info graphics and pointless links being spammed and even that is being replaced with shit like "this is bait".

The only difference I see between current 4chan and 'old' 4chan is that today the humor and general vibe of the website is ironic and cynical recycling old content with more layers of irony, old 4chan felt a lot more juvenile, silly and "random" and less malicious.

Yeah, there are not many good ones though. And unless you like something in particular, the worst are usually general vidya forums. The smaller, tighter one subject or series community are usually better overall. I miss forums and I miss IRC, but I'm never leaving this fuckhole.

It's not like this is the library of Alexandria or some shit, posts here are not that valuable and they're in really big quantities. Screencaps can still exist though, those will last longer, and there's nothing compromising anonymity with them.
