How do you decide your characters name in RPGs, /v/?

I use my real name to self insert to the max

I use the default/canon name.

I always call them nigger or bitch, my nicknames from hs.

My process is simple:
Is the game retarded?
>if no use official names
>if yes make them all silly retard names

If there are default names, like in FF , I always go by those.

If not, I normally use some of the regular Christian/Latin names.

>Random characters from other games

In that order

main character's name is Dicks
every following party member adds an I (Diicks, Diiicks, Diiiicks, etc.)

I use my real name of course.
Except in cases like Zelda or Chrono Trigger or Mother where the character is an actual character.
But for some shit like Dragon Quest or Pokemon where the protagonist's name is Hero or a color then fuck that I'm using my name of course.

I always just name them something like "Pap Smear" or "Hemorrhoid"

Usually just defaults if they exist, or my name in games where they blatantly want you to self-insert like Pokemon. Speaking of Pokemon, for my Pokemon I pick a word related to the Pokemon and either A) find a proper name that has root in that word and sounds good or B) throw it in Google Translate and switch languages until I get something that sounds like a name or would with some tweaks. And then those names get recycled willy-nilly in stuff like Etrian Odyssey where it's totally create a character.
