Leaving aside people that started streaming years ago before it got big, people that got into it after amassing a huge Youtube following, and channels dedicated to broadcasting events like EVO, the number of people that started streaming and amassed a following without being a meme spouting retard appealing to twelve year olds is tiny.

Also Twitch does basically nothing to advertise smaller streamers, you would actually have to hope that some number of people wades through all the streamers with higher viewercounts than you and decides to watch you out of the other 100 people streaming that game with little to no viewers.

Most people I watch on twitch are already established on Youtube or have patreons (Somecallmejohnny, MykonosFan) and IF they stream on twitch it's only because Twitch is a better platform for streaming than YTgaming.
