I don't know what they were trying to achieve. I get the combat which started out kinda fun, but I got tired of having to find enemy weakpoint 24/7.

Also this is really a fucking half assed rpg. It's like they wanted to make one but there was no thought into it, just lets tack on leveling and then we can branch it into skill trees.

I wouldn't care except the game got incredibly boring after 5 hours after I realized this is just a generic open world game that wants to try something new but can't get away from the how generic open world games are.

I wouldn't say that any of those are *better*. The only good AC game was AC4, for its naval combat. Far Cry 3 is about on the same level considering that it came out in 2012, but the added layer of combat vs machines makes fighting in HZD more interesting. BG&E is old as fuck and Rayman couldn't be any more different.

This thread has just makes me realize that Far Cry 3 is probably Ubisoft's best game in recent memory

I like it so far. I just left the Embrace and ventured into first ruined town but my major is complaint that the game weighs you down with sidequests VERY quickly. I know that's the norm in RPGs but damn is it annoying.
Other than that I'm enjoying every minute of it.

You don't have to do any of them, all they give you is experience and reward boxes that sometimes have good mods in them (you can just get mods on your own by killing powerful machines though). The ones you do for the hunter's lodge are the only important ones since they give you some new weapons.

As soon as the gates to the desert opened, I just rode straight for the tallnecks so I could see all the map. Then immediately after I went for the cauldrons so I could override all the machines.
