1's major flaw is the repeating at the end. If you're into RPGs, you're going to want to try and do everything the game offers, which unfortunately amounts to incredible amounts of padding that actively detract from the game as a whole. On top of that, the game is really easy once you realize how truly busted some of the available jobs and skills are. Dark Knight, stillness, merchant, and time mage invalidate any challenge any of the end game trails might offer.

2 fixed some of the major problems with 1, such as the repeat being only once, and offering all the classes you missed out on the first cycle, but then completely blundered when it came to everything else. Characters, story, music are all nearly Fire Emblem Fates levels of bad, and it actively demerits the game entirely. They tried to iron out some of the broken aspects of the battle system, but it's still just as broken in the end.

Yeah it sucks that you have to kill the 4 crystal bosses again each loop but you spend more time doing new content than repeating old content in the second half.

People always meme that you have to repeat the whole game 5+ times, something they probably heard from a random youtube review from some guy who skipped all the side quests. This is factually wrong as you can just fly to the 4 dungeons and walk through them with 0% encounter rate to fight to bosses. No dialogue is required.
Fuck the Crystal awakenings though i can't and won't defend that bullshit.

unless you get into hours in analyzing the job and abilities options (or you know, seeing a guide). it is not very clear what can break the flow of the game. I personally never liked the idea of touching too much the abilities or the class composition of my team, I just picked up what it could work.

Also, if you don't catch or don't like the story, of course, that part is going to be frustrating as everything is repetitive in that perspective.

I'm 40 hours in and I just saved the child who is now leading me to the Fire Vestal am I even close to the end of the game?

I really like the music so far. Particularly the boss fight music and dungeon music. The costumes for the different jobs are all great as well.

Monk/D. Knight with self resurrect ability from the vampire and one that does damage every time you die.
Stack 3BP and attack with phoenix flight and minus strike. After that spam minus strike until you die. Every time you die you do more damage and may resurrect yourself on the same turn.

This has been on my mind for a while now, but why didn't Edea recognize Ringabel? She and Alternis had been together since childhood, you'd think she would remember what he looked like. It's not like he wore the helmet for his entire life.

when alternis became a knight, he never removed his helmet, so Edea knew his face from childhood, but not from teens and adulthood. Also, ringabell being... ringabell.

It's a polarizing game. Some, like myself, can forgive it for the shitty loops because of that sweet Final Fantasy 5 gameplay. Others can't really look past the loops and deem it shitty.

I'm pretty sure almost 100% of this board would like it if they didn't pad the game with groundhog day shit.
