Andromeda has somewhat enjoyable gameplay and actual side quests once in awhile.
Inquisition has the worst gameplay in the series coupled with the worst gameplay design in the series and mounts that are plain fucking terrible which is legitimately unacceptable in an open world game the size of Inquisition.

It's more hate for Bioware than the game itself. Half a meme and half butthurt over mass effect 3, and it doesn't help that Inquisition is kinda meh compared to Origins.
I still spent way more time than I should have playing it and the ending DLC made me have a shred of hope for the future of the series.

I never played a dragon age game until inqustion. I wasn't really blown away with how the items and abilities worked but something about traveling through some amazing looking settings with the kinda banter that goes on in my crompanions Reacting to the events in the game or just making idle chat made for a comfy gaming session. Varric, Blackwall and Dorian have become some of my favourites in the game. Even characters that I don't like very much like sera had their moments.

So what did origins do better than Inqusition? Can I pick it up for PS4?

The combat and gameplay is closer to a proper crpg, with smaller environments and slower paced combat. As for how the companions interacted with the story and characters, it far better written and better woven. It's not as pretty as Inquisition but the parts you liked were much better in Origins, hearing Morrigan bickering with Alistair or Sten is quite fun.
Also those origins stories were pretty nice.
