I guess it depends on what you consider "faggy and preachy." I assume you're talking about the religious subjects it tackles and, if so, the answer is yes and no.

First, you have to consider that the games are not narratively focused. Even the Sorrow games -- which are arguably the most story heavy in the series -- have only a small amount of storytelling, just enough to get by really.

That said when religion IS represented, it is somewhat similar to the show. The storyline about the Belmonts bring excommunicated because the Church feared them is from the games and religion (though not faith in God) is sometimes looked down on, as in >>384906207. The Church is implied to have taken part in Lisa's death as well.

That said, the games, like the show, heavily imply that there is a God and that the protagonists are largely God-fearing individuals. Holy weapons and relics have true power against evil, devout individuals are shown to be pious and kind, Leon Belmont -- the first -- was a Holy Knight who was explicitly Christian and fought in the name of God, and subsequent Belmonts are all implied to also be religious.

So -- again, like the show -- the games criticise organized religion and its failings but don't outright decry faith in God nor do they imply religion as a whole is inherently evil. Just that some who follow it can be.

I never got to play SCVIV when I had my SNES. Luckily I got in on the SNES Classic preorder do I'm pumped to try it.

Favorite Classicvania of those I've played is Bloodlines and nothing has topped SotN for me as far as Metroidvanias go. Other games have had aspects I liked more but SotN as a whole is better than any individual game for me.

Okay, so, there are two sets of terms here.

Gnostic: I know with certainty that a thing is true.
Agnostic: I do not know with certainty that a thing is true.

Theist: I believe there is a God.
Atheist: I do not believe there is a God.

Atheist on its own says nothing about whether a God exists, only that the person lacks a belief in that God. They are not saying he doesn't.

I still don't love the chart because Gnostic Atheist makes no sense since Atheist is just a lack of belief -- I can know with 100% certainty that I lack that belief.

A better term to use on that chart would be anti-theist, someone who actively believes a God does NOT exist. Then the Gnostic/Agnostic labels apply more readily.

No secular member is saying you can't express your religion, wear your symbols and practice in public. Secularists do not want your religion to infringe on the rights of others, however. From a secular point of view, all people are given basic human rights and nothing should ever stand above those rights. Your religious beliefs do not give you the right to deny another person their rights.

As for the religious schools being forced to provide secular studies, this is a bit tricky. In my opinion, if a school is funded by the government or tax exempt, they should be subject to government oversight on the subjects they teach. If they are privately funded, then what they teach should be up to them.

I don't see why they would. So long as the pastor never tries to deny a homosexual their rights based on his own religious beliefs nor does he incite violence I'm his sermons. Similarly, so long as the Muslim never harms their wife physically or emotionally, none of that harms another person so it's well within freedom of expression and freedom of religion.

Once again that's their preorgative and currently legal. Speaking honestly, my only issue with this currently (other than it being a shitty way of thinking) is that churches are tax exempt. As such, they should be considered public institutions and subject to government standards for equality. From a RELIGIOUS standpoint, they're within their legal rights and I think that should remain. I think currently we're still behind the curve because of the exemptions, however. Remove that and let the church exclude as many members of the community as it sees fit.

Yeah, the animation was not up to snuff I noticed a lot of the times, like when at one point when Trevor was running away his walking animation was just a few frames over two secounds. Did not pay attention to the music much, but some remixes of classic Castlevania music would have been nice.

You literally addressed nothing about my post. My point is, EVEN IF YOU'RE RIGHT, the Bible is no longer necessary and the founding fathers specifically acted to prevent the Church from holding power in the US.

If the Bible was instrumental in the creation of the country, how is this in any way a negative thing? If it's ideals were sound and the nation was founded upon those ideals, is this not a wise move?
