I've got about 50 games in my backlog after buying loads this year

Yeah, mine's organized by year and it's about 950 games long. Been trying to play through it by year too, and I've been making good progress. I'm in 1993 right now.

I'd say go for Persona 1 next. You're already doing Strange Journey so you're used to the difficulty of older SMT games. Persona 1 will be fun for you while P3P will probably seem easy as fuck.

A couple of days ago I finally beat NWN 2 Mask of the Betrayer which I'm pretty sure was the single oldest entry in my backlog as far as games I'd actually put time into are concerned. My previous save had been from 2011 or something.

Jesus your entire backlog is filled with great games. Which version of Chrono Trigger do you have? Played the DS one earlier this year and absolutely loved it. Still holds up as a great RPG even now.

I also fucking love the Dishonored series. It definitely doesn't get the praise it deserves. One of those underrated gems in recent years, though the DLC is actually better than the mainline game IMO.

Honestly though, grab a 20 sided die and put a game for each number and roll. There isn't a single terrible game on that list.
