Fun is the most important aspect a game should provide, and there is no way you can prove me wrong

"fun" is a poor word to use, a better one would be something like "engaging".
A game might have what would be considered "unfun" mechanics to add to the greater experience. Dying in a Souls game isn't fun, but it establishes a sense of consequence and weight to the game, which makes the game better as a whole.
