Most of the core catalog like Animal Crossing and Triple Deluxe are $20 now as Nintendo Selects, and all of the good Atlus games like EOIV regularly go on digital sale for $10.

Resolution doesn't matter when 3D is on because things pop out of the screen.

3DS start was fucking rough. Legends 3 cancelled and TTYD2 scrapped in favor of Shitter Star.

WiiU had same fucking problem except it never got fixed; SMTxFE, no real 3D Mario, no exclusive Zelda game, Color Splash, etc.

I do have to give them credit though. They stepped up with the 3Ds catalog, which is why I'm interested now.
I was just kinda like "Damn,really?" When I saw what some of the games are still going for.
I guess I'll just get them at a slower pace throughout the rest of the year seeing as there are so many other games I want to play as well. This year has been too stacked. Actually kinda glad Red Dead got pushed back.

Because Nintendo doesn't print 10 million copies of every game like western publishers, so stores don't wind up with tons of excess stock that gets heavily discounted. People also trade in first-party Nintendo games a lot less often, so couple that with the above and there are just far fewer copies in circulation than, say, any western AAA game that any random Gamestop will have a dozen used copies of at any given time.

The 3D doesn't use resources if its not on so I don't think so. Nintendo is a lot of things but they aren't dumb enough to create an actual disparity between console in the same line. All the "New" DSs run the same , the new 2ds is just lighter and sleeker because it isn't carrying that extra screen and chip for the 3D.

I have put a lot of thought into this myself because i want Nintendo games for my 3ds but love saving money.

There are multiple reasons why prices don't go down.

1: nintendo games are ageless. you can debate if they are good or not but nintendo games just age a lot better then others. People are more likely be tempted to replay a game.

2: Carts take much less space and are more collectible then disks IMO. partly because they are also so durable. They take little space in your collection.

3: A good portion of them were low print. So there is less of them in circulation then say GTA5.

4: its nintendo. There games are popular. you want to keep them or go get them. Zelda fans for example rarely sell their copies. Because they are fans. And hardcore pokemon fans buy multiple and keep multiple of the same game.

Vita games on the other hand drop in price a lot because they are not popular. But many are also low print.

It's nintendo's vision of their products.

For them, a game is never obselete, even 20 years later it's the same game you had at release day, so to them, the product is the same, thus worth the same.

I know that because I worked in localization of various games.

I haven't used it in awhile, been occupied with MH4U, but I played through P4G multiple times. I tend to use it for the PS4 streaming stuff. I should hack it, if I can.
I dunno if the n2DSXL is hackable, but my regular n3DS is hacked, and I've been putting a bunch of GBA games on it.

Nintendo games don't lower in price because every game they make is a masterpiece that will stand the test of time as a classic. Collecting games for a system means you're owning a piece of gaming heritage which will be infinitely playable for decades to come due to the love and care in developing each and every Nintendo title.

Because of this, prices don't lower because the games are always in high demand as everyone wants to own and keep their own piece of Nintendo game.
