Some basic recommendations. I have my own problems with games (backlog obsession mostly tying into a bunch of other personal problems)

But if you're just a little burned out:

>Find a good game in a genre you have little experience in or little prior interest, a little more strategic depth can do wonders in bringing back interest.
>Do some other shit so you can come back to games feeling more invested
>Look for a hidden gem in your favorite genre you may not have heard of (Ever heard of Star Control 2? Amazing game from '92 or so, surprisingly obscure.)
>Instead of desperately looking for a new game, think of an old game that you feel like playing right now.

I really wish there was a good in-depth MMO out there right now. Still waiting for the MMOFPS of my dreams, but I'll probably be 37 with reflexes starting to slightly slow before that comes.

you are fundamentally punished by not playing it like a pure deathmatch and shooting everyone on sight because the risk of letting other people in close is too great to yourself. If I want to play a survival deathmatch I'll just play fucking PUBG, a game actually optimized for it.

I'd love to get together with a group of 10-20 dudes and make a friendly walled town with guards that openly trades and offers shelter to randoms and shit and see how long we can manage it before we're wiped off the earth, but that's easier said than done.
