OOOs is a good show for beginners and is the one that got me hooked. Ex-Aid, the most recent one airing on TV, is also really good. Gaim is about a bunch of street dancing fruit samurais and is non-stop action, although it takes an episode or 2 to really get invested

Nigga the only thing these threads have in common with quests is user based content based off of requirements set by a host. Yes, without the host, we are nothing, but without us, the host just has a bunch of code and nothing to use it with because literally the only thing pushing these threads forward is OC.
Why do you hate that, Anon? A bunch of Anons got together and made a little game where you make little MSpaint abortions and put them in a cockfight, and it generates a shitload of quality OC, something /v/ hasn't had in forever. Hell, this is hands down the best OC I think I've seen period, and since all you need is MSpaint to participate, it's extremely accessible. But maybe I'm too new.
The best part is that these threads are almost completely bereft of "Le epic /v/ gamur mindset". There is no contrarianism here. There's no console-war tomfuckery. There's no (excessive) shitting on reddit, there's no questioning whether or not fun is a buzzword etc. everyone just comes together once a week to have a grand old time making monsters and watching them battle while a dude codes the fights on the fly. Well by the time we get there, the minions will have evolved at least once, and Monkey's Ability essentially makes him a pure support character. Like, he doesn't attack. Ever. Instead, he just gives everyone on the team heals.
And Lil' Roll's evo gives everyone a random stat boost (but takes away one stat) every turn, but the only thing that would be able to stop a blast attack is an excess of LIFES, or maybe FASTS if it works the way we think it does. There's still a good chance we could see some crazy shit happen.

This tourney has ruined everything. even if VFC host does come back.
Skeletrons ability has totally poisoned the well. From this point onwards, it has been shown to be a foolish idea to balance your abilitys.
Even if you spend ages making your ability fair, some other guy will enter something with a retarded op ability, so you might as well do that too.
Abilities are going to be a powerlwvel contest from now on, and a contest to produce the most broken shit, Instead of trying to come up with flavor.

Serious question: Is /v/ermin balanced statistically? Do stat points and their effects need to be re-jiggered? Does a new stat need to be introduced? Is the 13-16/20-20/25 model working for everyone?

I don't really have a problem with how things are laid out currently, but it's always good to step back and think about this from time to time.

13/16-20/20-25 is great currently.
As for new stat, MAYBE some anti-Blast stat, but definitely not mandatory. I'm a bit disappointed that Kiteena, whose entire ability is anti-blast, died to a chain of Blasts.
