My local game store has Genesis games in-the-box for relatively cheap since Sega didn't skimp out and made hard plastic cases that a lot of people didn't just throw away like they did those paper boxes.
Because of this, I've been picking up a few now and then. Was really psyched when I found Streets of Rage 2, since that's my favorite Genesis game hands down.

I have an okay retro collection of some pretty rare ones complete in box but I don't tend to collect anymore because I simply have already bought everything I have wanted. I think the only retro game I have added in the last 5 years is Legend of Oasis.

I am a little odd compared to other collectors in that I will sell a game if it gets compiled in a newer release, which doesn't seem to happen anymore. So for instance the Kirby Dream Collection, sold all of my Kirby games that were within. I kept the manuals though since the game didn't have manual scans.

I didn't post that picture but it's a great fucking comic. Covers MGS1 and 2 and still well in print. Also you can see them made as motion comics in that second Metal Gear HD release (or the PSP Digital Graphic Novel release for the first one, but there is no voice acting in that).

That's pretty cool anon. My cousin gifted me his GU collection a few years back so I could get into it but only one at a time. I have GU vol 2 but he lost his vol 1 and 3 so now I have to find those on ebay somewhere, but I was able to get the first three games in the original series on ebay recently for 55 dollars so it aint all bad.

PAL region got fucked out of some great games. Chrono Cross, Xenogears, all the FF until 7, all the Dragon Quest games until 8. We got Xenosaga episode TWO but not 1 or 3. Fucking ridiculous.

Because unless you were one of the rare kids who owned a Nomad you weren't bringing your Genesis games all over the place to play them. Also DS is extremely notorious for the insane amount of bootleg carts in comparison to legitimate ones you'll find these days so that's also a factor.

Collecting anything is retarded

At some point I went off the deep end and bought an arcade cabinet.

Now I have three cabinets, four or five control panels, a few screen bezels, two Nanao MS9, half a naomi universal and more harnesses than I care to count. Most of them hand made, like the Namco harness.

That said, none of it cost much. I paid maybe 30 quid for all the control panels, and they'll probably go for 60 each after I clean, sand, fill, and spray them.

As for just the GU getting a remaster i'm not sure. I believe they said they are looking into continuing the series if the HD collection does well. Since GU has a new main character and the plot is only loosely tied to the Infection-Quarantine. I think whatever for that "continuation" takes well be tied to GU more that the others......or GU looks prettier and they think it'll sell better?

Actual boards. Mostly late 90's games. Tekken 3, Soul Calibur, Columns 97 - they're getting the most use at the moment. I have a Pandora's box somewhere around here which I break out when friends are looking to play something I don't have. Although the performance is as you'd expect for an ARM board running Linux.

I've actually been looking for a particular game for a while. A 3D football/soccer game where the gimmick was that the players could use special abilities. I can't even find the name, so finding a board is impossible at this point.
