I've been looking at getting a switch since it launched but I always heard it had a bunch of problems. Are all of the manufacturing and bug issues over yet? Does it have games yet, or is it still just a Zelda machine?
Owned a switch since launch. I personally have not run into much outside BoTW crashing once early on when it first launched, but outside of that it is working fine for me. It does have some decent games, such as MK8: Deluxe (has a huge online community, although it depends if you played any of it on the Wii U and are sick of it), Disgaea 5, and Splatoon 2. ARMS is also one a lot of people like, but it wasn't my cup of tea.
As far as manufacturing defects, there have been reports of some screen issues, batteries that are not keeping charge like they normally do (I personally have not run into that, might be people leaving it in sleep mode for long periods instead of turning it off outright), and overheating, which can still be a issue with the dock.
The Switch's OS is still pretty barebones, and is missing a lot of stuff, including the ability to back up or transfer saves to another switch/cloud.
I'd personally wait a bit longer unless you want to jump on the Splatoon bandwagon. I get the feeling the manufacturing shortages should be mostly cleared up by September or so.
