Was Naxx in TBC or WOTLK? That was based.

TBC and WotLK added onto the vanilla experience and the game still felt like a "world" so to speak
after wrath the storylines from wc3 were finished so the game had to move forward which lead to cata and all it's revisions

vanilla is the only time it felt like a world, after that it was portaling between disconnected continents that 100% invalidated the previous ones with nothing to do in azeroth except use the AH

Pretty much anything that happened in vanilla has been retconned out of existence. They revamped almost the entire overworld and most of the dungeons. Some of the dungeon revamps don't even make sense story wise anymore, at all.

Flying mounts ruined the game.
Attunements not being removed quickly enough made alt-o-holic'ing unbearable in TBC (unless you were unemployed I guess).
Wotlk brought a shit-ton of niceness to wow, but could never really compete with the satisfaction of finishing Karazhan.

Nothing will ever compare to actually making it through the entirety of BRD and killing that fucking red-levelled dwarf in less than five hours.

Im not including vanilla because it wasn't as endgame focused as the other expansions and it plays so radically differently from every other iteration of WoW. Legion can beat out Wotlk if the next raid tier is good. Most of hte changes to the game are pretty positive and enjoyable.
