Dragon Ball Super would be better if they just through out transformations all together, and stuck with techniques. I know putting that genie back in the bottle went out after the android saga but SSJ really marked the decline of the series.
Seriously if you took out all lazy transformations aka SSJ/SSB think about how much better the series would be for it.

Well the manga recently gave SSB a semi powerup. Actually the manga is quite good through and through and actually explains shit better than the anime. Goku recently mastered SSB and has a form similar to FPSSJ, and in the form there is no aura leakage. Basically he has perfect control of his ki and can even use the God Destruction technique that erases any mortal.

I've actually dreamt of rewriting the entire DB story from start up to now in a way that follows the same general story, but with less contrivances, coincidence, and more mystique. Cabba and Califla aren't coincidentally strong. We don't know what kinds of opponents they've had to fight, but Cabba is like a space law enforcer of some kind and Califla is the leader of a band of mercenaries or something. They probably had their fair share of adventures too before this. Vegeta even mentioned in the previous tournament that Cabba's base form was around on par with his. They just didn't know about transformations until now, so they're catching up quickly because their base forms were already powerful enough to do this.
