If you can play it with a controller, it's simcade. Sim is wheel only no fun allowed shit like rfactor or iracing. Asetto Corsa is borderline.

Maybe I need to elaborate. If you can play with a controller without any serious compromise in playabilty or enjoyability then the game is simcade (or it has some really good driving assists) because special care was put when designing the physics system to accommodate for a controller's vastly lower granularity in analog movement, which unavoidably lessens the accuracy of the simulation.

Assetto Corsa with a controller is pretty tough. I can't really drive cars that have some bounce to them. Formula cars are easy though. That game really needs a wheel to play.

Ridge Racer 6 was on Xbox 360 because Playstation 3 wasn't a thing yet. Ridge Racer 7 is like an expansion for RR6 I believe. Sort of like How Ridge Racer 2 for PSP was the same as Ridge Racer for PSP but expanded content.
