I scoff mightily at your autistic reason for wasting Balthier's great stats on Machinist, but even more mightily at you giving Penelo Black Mage and Ashe Black Mage, regardless of the artstyle, the fact of the matter is that the whole point of the story is Ashe's willingness to use destructive magic for revenge, whereas Penelo is a big empathic ball of caring. To suggest that Ashe shouldn't be Black Mage and Penelo shouldn't be White Mage is even dumber than pissing away Vaan's or Balthier's stats on jobs like those - even dumber than using Uhlan, the worst job in the game

In every MMO I've ever played, Black Mages (of the equivilant) tend to be the most kind/caring people and it's the healers who are complete dickbags.
