These. Combat isn't bad either. Setting is also fantastic.

It's pretty good. I liked it, wanted to play it a second time in hardmode but got sidetracked too much.

Level design is weak. Combat gets repetitive. Annoying writing and humor.

actually been playing this off and on for the first time recently.

platforming is really annoying because you'll wallcling to fucking everything which forces you to slowly slide off or jump away from where you were trying to go. combos and special moves are pretty useless because it seems like you can steamroll the game just by x,x,x,throw over and over.

Its a shame since I feel the style actually is really nice so it kinda ruins the mood when you see a 'LE GENTLEMEN' meme in the middle of really good setting design.

Like, Binding of Isaac was also guilty of this (Talking old flash days not Afterbirth+ garbage) but it was less apperent.

fun metroidvania which progresses at a decent pace. the platforming is good but the combat really stands out, it's actually very much like smash bros, but with more of a focus on brawling and throwing enemies at other enemies

There's a lot of signs in the main town and the flame guy says TROLOLO. That's about it. Fairly ignorable.

Easily one of the top best 20 games ever played. Better than metroid in certain circumstances too.

Good game.
Battle lacks some depth and the level design is 7.5/10 at most. A little short too... but it has a great soundtrack and exploring is fun.

>few bosses and they don't always hit the mark
>first release has a very barebones main quest, rerelease adds 2 great levels but they kill the pacing (the volcano in particular never fucking ends)

Other than that it's great. The sheer amount of optional content in the rerelease is definitely refreshing, even for a Metroid-like.
