This right here is what gets me about recent Sonic games. They're all so fucking safe and inoffensive. Forces might end up being shit, but I'm probably going to by it because it looks like it will at least be a fun and interesting piece of shit.

It looks like a fucking mess. Just desperately throwing in anything they can think of to try and appeal to someone, anyone.
The gameplay doesn't even look good. Park Avenue looks like it has less going on than even Modern Green Hill. Classic looks unimproved from gens despite being heavily flawed there. Avatar looks like complete filler. Modern Sonic mixed with a dollar store version of Ratchet and Clank and a junky, barely-interactive grappling hook that makes your character freeze in midair whenever you use it like the game is thinking on what its next action should be.

This is the worst new meme. Sonic Team have proven for decades to be completely unaware of anything, let alone irony. The people actually working on the game (Read, not Aaron Webber) are treating it as completely sincere. Infinite's theme is barely worse than anything in Shadow the Hedgehog, and right in line with what the band who made it usually does. Historically, nobody has any reason to think this is going to be some Barkley-esque farce.
