I had a Wii U but sold it before I got Splatoon; own a Switch now because its Nintendo's final shot for me to keep buying their systems, and I have to say Splatoon is a lot of fun. Salmon Run is the best because I suck at Turf War and getting kills but I enjoy contributing to the team.
You should've done the first Splatfest, but if you've bought it, you might as well play it and see if you enjoy it

It's trash if you are good at shooters or played them before.

It's really shallow, has a 4 hour map rotation, and no beefy content. The rounds are also too short. It's less about player skill too, so it doesn't feel good to win or perform better.

It's very shallow so just know its made for 8 year olds in mind.

If you want more of the same yes. If you were looking for some kind of revamp no. Single-player is almost cut and paste. Multi-player is almost the same with different maps. Only new thing is Salmon Run which is pretty fun, and gets hard. It's Splatoon 1 with new maps, tweaks and addons, that's all.

I never played the original and I think it's a blast. Although I do think the campaign is kinda overrated, the bosses are fun but some of the other stuff was kinda tedious. I can't believe people want it to be longer. I like all the modes, too, so that was a surprise. Anyway, if you like Splatoon 2 or not mostly depends if you like online games or not, if you don't then don't bother.
