It really isnt. Have you listened to that version recently?

By the way, if you want to judge the new battle theme, I'd recommend watching the gameplay video first. There's a new bit added to the song after the end of the original's first loop, and the person who uploaded the song on YouTube chopped off the beginning so it sounds like it jumps into the new section right away before barely giving the original part a fair shake.
