Pull a RE4 again where they take one random character and just make a god damn good-ass entry where gameplay is the focus and horror comes second. None of that Michael Bay bullshit with 5 and 6. Although the problem with those games is the terrible level design, not the atmosphere.

The series needs another Half-Life 2.

Okay so RE4 was all about how you could kill everything. It's an action game, all shooting. RE1-3 were half shooting, half evasion. Make a game where the focus is evading enemies. It's almost entirely about playing keepaway. It's almost like a platformer. You play as Ashley and she's stuck in some facility or whatever. You can inject yourself with viruses to augment yourself and gain new abilities. There are no guns to use. Maybe there are light stealth elements, but the central gameplay is about running from people chasing you. Big emphasis on the environment.
