Different kind of games, I enjoyed the storyand the journey on the first game better, and loved traveling through Japan, loved the towns, etc.
Goemons' Great Adventure is fantastic but it's a side-scroller and more linear.

I couldn't pick, both are great.
The first game is unique, as it's the only (good) 3D Goemon game.
And GGA is like the peak of the classic Goemon side-scrollers.

Are all the goemon games co op? I've always wanted to play more of the N64 ones, but they don't seem be on VC. Wanna do some couch co op with a buddy.

Not all, but most of them are.
I think all of the SNES ones have co-op - not sure on the 3rd one though, but the rest do.
The first N64 game (the 3D one) is single-player, and you can switch between all 4 characters anytime.
Goemon's Great Adventure has co-op like the SNES games and a secret 4-player simultaneous mode when you finish the game
