VLR had 3D models and while they looked bad, they were nowhere as bad as ZTD's.

Honestly I felt like ZTD's animations and crappy models made me enjoy the game a lot less (even though they were the least of the game's issues)

it's the artstyle.
VLR models are lower poly than ZTD. But the artstyle at least makes them look pleasant.
While ZTD models have weird hair textures, awkward faces, and shoddy as fuck animations.

Why did ZTD suck so much, guys?

It's like Uchikoshi just ran out of fucking ideas (and he was already plagiarising off himself in 999 and VLR). The ending was so ass and he had to fucking bring in ANCIENT ALIENS AND TELEPORTERS to explain stuff. I'm not even mad about the exclusion of things like Kyle and stuff, it's just the existing things already in the game that sucked so much.

I felt like the inclusion of the timeline in the start was also a mistake and really ruined the overall atmosphere of the game. Oh look i just blew sigma's brains out that's real sad wow time to reload and try again. There needed to be some lock or more clever way of weaving that into the narrative

I really liked 999 and VLR and this game was just... yeah. At least it got made, I guess?

Carlos basically does what you expected Sigma and Phi to do at that point in the story. Just abusing his powers without any care to get shit done. If Carlos went through VLR instead of Sigma, he would have been able to fix everything by himself.

So the entirety of VLR was to boost up Sigma's powers so he could do some crazy shit and save the world, but he and Phi literally did jack shit throughout the entirety of the game. It really left a sour taste in my mouth when the entire premise of VLR was basically pointless because Sigma was useless as hell
