What does /v/ think of Dead Cells?
Looks like one of the more grindy ones to me, but I haven't played it. Convince me otherwise. It's usually pre-run item shops that ruin these games for me.

Items are always bought in shops in the level, never pre-run. It is a bit grindy, but after a couple of levels you have quite a few different routes you can take, just for variety and challenge.

It does get pretty grindy, yes.
Also the only two bosses in the game are fucking HUGE damage sponges.
I bought it. Its not worth it. RNG really doesnt feel like it improves anything it just makes you frustrated when you get bad map layouts or weapons that arent as good as other weapons. The "lol you gotta deal with what you get" is boring as fuck btw. I tried to go as fast as possible and every time its just oh a bad weapon oh well this run will be slow oh a shitty map layout well this run will be slow etc etc.

It's fun, but there's not enough content in there to justify buying it yet.

They really aren't unless you are going full heath
I can two shot the first boss with the shotgun

Wow you just described every randomly generated game ever aren't you a sharp spoon

Too grindy.
It sold like a dead game
It would be better if it was a straight up metroidvania with none of this RNG bullshit
Stop buying unfinished games
is there a release date for this? for the 1.0

Played it for two hours, felt it got repetitive.

Yes well its just that I think that this game would worked better if it was more arcadey and less rng. Like if you wanna play actual rng roguelike theres much better choices than this. This just falls into a medium that doesnt excel in anything.
