I almost bought the HD collection back when it was released, simply because my SH2 disc is apparently damaged since it couldn't load the second are of the game (strangely enough I was able to load my old save from the hospital no problem but never could start a new game). I checked ebay and since the original SH2 was only like ten bucks and my SH3 disc still works, I bought that instead. Dodged a bullet there, I never even considered the remake might suck ass.

Given the great reception that received, there'd have been literally no reason not to go with them again. Further evidence for this theory is supported by the fact that Book of Memories exists. Not a big fan necessarily, while I've always liked SH, I only got into MGS very recently. Pic related has some other cool finds, but they were all used but in great condition.

The MGS1 box has the SH demo and manuals, the SH1 original copy is also in great condition. RE: Survivor isn't really a good game but I was surprised to actually find a copy at all, and DC1 I got at a yard sale and has a crack on the case but it has the manual and disc.

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" fix works as a no-cd crack as well, and is included in the pack.

In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.
Also google sh2 xpadder there's a couple of buttons to set for comfort play.

If all else fails and you can't get your controller to work, lookup joy2key (make sure to get the right version, there's some malware posing as it out there.) it'll let you map your controller to keyboard and mouse.

From what I understand Konami somehow lost the completed code, so when it came time to jump on the HD remake train, they had to rebuild large chunks of the games. Book of Memories on the Vita is a weird dungeon-crawler spin off made by Wayforward.

Origins is just a soul-less Silent Hill game. Contradicts established lore, but has some neat environments. Gives the shift between worlds to the player, making it not very spooky.

That feels really bitter sweet about SH. SH3 ended things so nicely with 4 being a nice spinoff that having the last games be Downpour and BoM is the worst way to end off the series. Especially because it feels like with SHSM it popularized the worst part about modern horror games, chase scenes where you're completely defenseless and have to hide.

My ideas would not be ANYONE elses' ideas, but personally i'd look at doing a downloadable mini release.

Like how we got the old Konami Rebirth series on Wii. I'd continue that trend with Silent Hill Rebirth. It'd have more in common graphically with Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill Origins than later games. It'd play like the original three games.

That said, I would forbid the team working on it to reuse any of the existing enemies/bosses/music and locations. There'd be no returning characters. It wouldn't be a "fanservice" game. It'd be as if Silent Hill 1 got a PS1 sequel that you could download on all of today's platforms.

Also wouldn't try and attach any "big" name to it like they tried with Kojimbo. Just give it to a younger development team and see what they did with the series.

I think what's weird about it is not "she has dark burnette hair" its that her hair is RAVEN BLACK. Which didn't look odd on Alessa or Cheryl at all for some reason.

Also, dark hair makes the whole freckle thing seem odd too. As a blonde you can almost believe that it's a ginger thing, that Heather is leaning towards strawberry blonde. But she isnt at all. This is how Heather REALLY looks.

This incident is special in that the final version of the game was lost (the specifics escape me). For the remaster, they basically had to build up an older version of the game. The team dong the remaster wasn't all that talented, either. So here we are.

I mean, the guys at Team Silent were detail maniacs so even the slightest change on one of their designs makes it look weird.
