Because people get excited about playing a game like this with their friends. Even if it's kind of shit, the idea of a big last-survivor FPS deathmatch is a good one with a lot of potential, so people get excited before they play it.

As far as I can tell the only reason to rabidly hate the game is if you don't have 3 friends to play it with. My friends and I play a few matches every other day or so, and it's always a blast.

Third person ruins it all because anyone hiding in cover basically has wall hacks to see anything you try to do. Peeking is way easier too because you can pre-aim with the third person walls before they can see you.

Compare to CS:GO, where people are freaking out right now because you do a crouch jump thingy to see a little over certain obstacles without actually being visible to the enemy. It's like a huge thing that should hopefully be fixed soon and yet PUBG lets you do it anywhere constantly

MGS5 multiplayer had a similar problem. The one interesting game mode of sneaky camo players vs non-sneaky gun players was the only interesting thing. But again third person ruined it because I could just crouch behind a wall and wait for a sneaky guy to move past my field of view. He could be doing everything right, using his binoculars to try to spot me or whatever, but I'm completely hidden below the wall and yet seeing everything. I felt more like I was cheating than actually winning so I quit MGS5 for good. They REALLY should have made the "guard" team first person like that one splinter cell game did

That is a huge problem and you're right but the zone constantly making you move has people fighting in the open more often.

Looks like the sort of game that is just going to keep getting popular and then 100% wrecked by hackers. It's fun now being it's popular but not too popular so it's not really a hacker like target.

Yet you have to figure with a low TTK, the theme and it's lower price point it's going to get wrecked by trolling hackers.

The real reason the game isn't rife with hackers is because it wouldn't actually help that much and because there are 100 people in each game so it is less apparent. You could have ESP telling you where every other player is, showing you where all the best loot is and an aimbot and you would still not be guaranteed to win.
