Honestly, my main gripe with Z was the fact that there were only 15 or so unique stages spread out though the 50 levels.

Literally repeating the same stage 3-4 times was dumb.

That versus mode had so much effort put in for what seemed like an after thought. Blew my fucking mind when I realised how big each characters move set was. Chi-bot could spit bombs and use its machine gun, Tatsumaru could use that ultra combo. Onikage had his health drain grab. Like fuck dude.

My father got me Tenchu with my PSX when I was 7. Immediately got hooked and always felt like no few other sword games got the same nice balance between offense and defense as Tenchu did. Also some top tier level designs with alternating AI routes and stellar OST.

What a game. Wrath of Heaven was also 10/10.

The From Software Tenchu games were actually the worst. Acquire made the best Tenchu games.
