As soon as you get this thing, every spooky scary critter in this game becomes a fucking joke, especially if you have the fire knife.
Crabsquids that are supposed to be butt clenching suddenly go down in a few knife hits while stunned.
Warpers become nothing more than a nuisance and an obstacle to avoid. All it takes is just a slash with the knife to make them run away. And they can't be killed which makes them just more annoying.

Not sure if they're going through with it, but it's planned so that when you get to the Primary Containment Facility all the Warpers in the world make a beeline for you and the predators inside the PCF and I think in the world will pretty much genocide the Warpers because for a thousand years they've been culling the creatures and the native life forms all see them as a mutual threat to be exterminated and/or the Sea Empress commands them to attack the Warpers

What the fuck was the point of building up all this tension, atmosphere, and momentum only to have the final boss show up and be like "let's play" only to just give you a shitty fetch quest which becomes redundant if you already have all four of those items growing in your garden at the base?
For fucks sake, just getting to that place was such a god damned ordeal and a pain in the ass, you expect a fucking boss fight in some shape or form, but the stupid pretentious fucking thing just DIES ON ITS OWN when you finish the quest.

If this is supposed to be the final part of the game then they fucked it up.
Way to build up a momentum for a climax only to flop hard with a polar opposite anticlimax.
I understand that lore-wise the Sea Empress is a friendly character, but if making it backstab you instead of just keel over for no apparent fucking reason makes for not shitty game design then what the fuck are they doing?

What do they have planned after this part? You get the enzymes, you make a cure, you disable the dickass canon the super evil not-animal-friendly aliens made, and you get off planet somehow.
I want to love this game, but so many things it does is just so wrong. If they spent as much time fixing bugs as they spent it on writing crew log files, they'd be done with this game by now.
