GameStop used to have this deal where GTA V was $40, but they'd email you a Shark Card code that was worth $3.5 million. People would buy GTA V, get the code and return the game. It was a real life money glitch. I guess developers wised up. I don't regret doing it. Fuck you, Rockstar.

I've only played 2 Betas, one was Crysis 2 and the other was Kill zone 3. They were fun to play but I never bought either of those games. I always thought Betas were free, do you know have to pre-order all games to play the Beta?

modern "betas" aren't really betas. sure they might be taking the opportunity to stress test in the case of server based online games and maybe doing some game balancing, but the main purpose of betas nowadays is what a demo used to be. they get you to pre-order the game by guaranteeing you a beta invite.
