What do you think of Bowser Jr.?

I enjoy him. He's a good comical villain that lets the koopa clown car get some use in boss fights since Bowser no longer uses it, and he consolidates the gimmick of the Koopalings into one character.

He's also one of my mains in SSB4.

He's pretty neat, especially now that he's the Mario series' Dr. Eggman. He's also probably closest to ambiguously moral as the games are gonna get without going full melodramatic

I used to be one of those people who didn't like him because I thought he was Nintendo's attempt to phase out the Koopalings. Now it's gone full circle, with the Koopalings feeling overused and Jr. gaining a life of his own. Having his own unique moveset and not being a clone of his dad in Sm4sh helped things along.

To be fair, I think Junior was meant to be a throwback to the Koopalings (Bowser's kid stole a wand-like weapon and causes havoc before fighting Mario).
Then they reintroduced the Koopalings with their scepters and gave Junior the Clown Car.

I like him. He's fine after Sunshine.
And I think he makes for more interesting boss fights than the Koopalings which are always just jump, swing wand and do that shell spin back and forth.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle.
So far Junior's the main antagonist (he wants to create an army to take over the Mushroom Kingdom so his dad'll be proud of him when he gets back from vacation)

Mario and Rabbids.
He's running around while Bowser's on vacation and recruits a Rabbid with the ability to fuse Mushroom Kingdom things with Rabbids. I think the bosses are actual fusions with the originals and not just coincidental lookalikes.

That's like the one problem. Even the few differences Baby Bowser had got retconned to make him look like Junior (though you picked the one game where Baby Bowser did have a bib).
The differences are more personality-wise and fighting style-wise.

My point was that they really should have given Junior a more distinct design, because I've seen people use their names interchangeably or whatever.
Then again, Koopa Kid looked more distinct and people still do (he was even called Baby Bowser early on) so...

Thing is, with Baby Bowser you have the expectation that Baby Mario will also show up. Giving Bowser a kid gives him a sidekick without having to mess with timetravel or bringing in all 7 koopalings.

Yeah, that was the mindset behind Junior's creation.
It seems like nowadays, though, they have him off doing his own thing while Bowser's pulling off whatever scheme he's doing (in the RPGs at least, in the New series, he seems to be the in-between of Bowser & the Koopalings).
