It kind of is, you're thrown into a 1on1 fight vs. a character who's unable to miss after a save point, so it's entirely possible to be mathematically unable to win that fight. Although super unlikely since Ramza's base skillset would cause most players to naturally take the abilities that would let you win, it's entirely possible you'd trained Ramza only in wizard classes and been unable to resolve a spell before you died.

Wasn't this unintended? Like the creators never wanted to include a tutorial, but the developer forced them to create one a few days before the game was supposed to go gold, so they quickly slapped something together without properly finishing it, and it was never intended to be as difficult as it is?

i was about to mention kirby super star, but the treasure cave offensive was a bitch

if you git gud at fft you can totally low level the game and be like level 12 at the weigraf fight and still cheese it without the shout method. Just chemist/time mage with guns and have a monk or summoner or some shit i forget. But yeah you can eventually get to the end of the game at like level 20something even just using the starter soldiers (no orlandu, no agrias, no mustadio) and have like 90% dodge on most shit and still wreck things with stupid ass combos like geomancer/priest for good equipment, status attacks and holy.
