It's a game store like Steam, exept they don't use DRM so they just give you an installer that you can save and install whenever and wherever you want. They bought the licence (it's an old game so they didn't pay much probably) and giving away games gives them publicity.

So GOG bought a bunch of copies? Do they ever run out? Why do people buy Strafe on Steam if they can get it on GOG? Is this the copyright owners version of a pay-what-you-want release, like so many musicians do now?
