Absolutely. However, it's not worth playing on anything above normal difficulty. Enemies just become massive bullet sponges and it makes using your sword (the most fun part of the game) a totally unfeasible option at higher difficulties.

Definitely, although it is one of the rare games that is actually too long - the last few levels should have been a bit shorter. Some enemies are huge bullet sponges, but you can mix up the gameplay enough with shooting / swordplay that it never gets to be a big issue.
