honestly, the carbines, DMRs and shotguns being all class weapons you can equip at any time. BF1 has the problem where if you want to have fun with the Scouts flare guns and gadgets, then you need to become a useless shitter because you only have sniper rifles to play with. in BF3 and 4 you can become the all seeing radar god and still have a nice selection of weapons to adapt with.

BF1 did everything else right though, limited classes aside
