i liked it, felt like a short version of dark souls 2. i beat the normal mode in about 13 hours, as your characters power spikes really quickly, like after about 4 hours into the game the trash between bosses didnt feel like shit to slog through because we both had about the same power. new game+ was also decent enough. on their website, Lords of the Fallen is selling for about $15 at gamestop, which is a good price for it.

Melee builds are fucking shit. Too clunky, the game has an oxymoronic live-action turn-based gameplay going on.
Boss fights are long and tedious, and unless you are doing magic (which is all-powerful), you might as well go do fatroll runs in dark souls.

i played LotF and currently i'm 18 hours into the Surge
combat overall feels a lot more fluid and varied and is quite tough, level design is pretty damn good and full of intertwined connections
it got some pretty fun weapons (i love the staves) but variety isnt that strong compared with something like dark souls, same with the armor
not that much enemy variety either, its mostly humanoids with the same few weapons and different armors and a few robots
bosses are ok, nothing spectacular

overall it feels like a step up from LotF in many ways and Firebug and MG Judge are best weapons
