Get into the habit of doing ki-pulses early and often. Never stop doing them. If you approach the game just like Souls you're crippling your effectiveness. Low stance katana will carry you through the game, but all of the weapons and stances can be just as viable. Don't avoid revenants. They're excellent ways to get ahold of good equipment.

Sword/spear/bow quality build then. Medium armor.

Every weapon has three stats it scales with, rated D-A

Spears scale with Body, Str, and Skill in that order
Swords scale with Heart, Str, and Skill in that order
Bows scale with heart, Skill, and dex in that order

So you should focus on Heart, Str, Skill, and Body. Don't bother overly much with dex or magic, though there are some useful buffs you can pick up like attack pellets or the charm that buffs your minimap and let's you see items

Level stamina and spirit as needed - if you find yourself getting tired out too easily, boost stam a little. Level spirit to whatever you need it to be to get all the passive benefits from your guardian spirit (check their info card in the shrine, all of them have various passive buffs you get from just having them equipped)

Fire doge is very good for general damage

Ox is good for sustain

Lightning doge(s) will get buffs from Raikiri which is a very good katana that goes with a very good set you can get in the first area. A full warrior of the west set will carry you through the next area, gradually being replaced.

I Platinum'd this game before any of the dlc came out. How's the enemy variety this time around? That's one of my biggest complaints about the game, that it's just the same 10 enemies everywhere you go.

Who the fuck even cares? This game was a huge disappointment after how tight and fresh the alpha and beta were. Too much shitty content instead of less but actually good content. Havent even finished the first DLC yet and only have it since I preordered the deluxe edition with a discount. The DLC.s should atleast be fucking separate campaigns because the leveling system and grindyness in this game is unbearable dogshit. Things either take 100 hits to kill or 2 hits depending on what broken shit youre using. Theres also literally nothing to this game outside of the combat system which isnt that good by any means
