After the introduction area when you are free to just go wherever you want. I highly recommend to just ignore ge waypoint to kakariko and go explore in whatever direction you want and find cool shit.

Yeah I've just been trying to unlock as many towers I see and hoping to see some cool shit. But there is fucking nothing in this big open world. Just some enemies that will one shot you and npcs with nothing interesting to say. Leveling up is also a pain in the ass and I never have rupees. Everything about this game feels like a chore.

The only two actually fun parts of exploring are trying to fight overpowered enemies while underpowered and shrines, but those get boring eventually.
