I put off playing this game for years. I was so impressed by AC4 I knew nothing could ever succeed it. The controls, the sounds, the ost, the high speed chases, everything about it was perfect. So I never bothered playing AC5 until a few months ago.

And I was right, I can't stand this game's long boring cutscenes about characters I could not give a damn about. I'm no weeb by any standard but AC4's style was at least interesting compared to generic Japanese 3d animation. There's no real graphical difference or gameplay difference either, and what little differences exist pale in comparison to its predecessor. The more I played ac5 the more I wished I was playing ac4. If it wasn't so late at night I would compile a detailed list explaining how it misses the mark on small important components that made up the masterpiece that is ac4. Maybe I'll try playing this again in the future and skip all the cinematics, but it will never be as good if I can't enjoy the story

5 is considered the weakest of the trinity, but you should really consider playing Zero, most people consider it on par or better than 4. It takes the best aspects of both games (4's storytelling, characters, and atmosphere, with 5's plane and mission variety) and adds it's own unique flair, most notably the playstyle gauge and Aces fights. In terms of it's themes and replayability, it's by far the deepest game of the series.

The triggers are pressure-sensitive on the ps2 dualshocks, so you can bind the throttle-axis to them and it'll work like any other PC flight game.
