DaS3 is what would happen if you took Bloodborne, removed everything that made Bloodborne good, and added a coat of Dark Souls paint over it. There's not a single thing 3 does better over the other games in the series.

Am I the only one who loved DaS second half.

Sure you have some shit like the BoC and everything it New Londo Ruins but the level design went from cool Stine castles to out of the world trippy hellscapes, gorgeous views overlooking a stunning lake, walking down a staircase of light while ghost knights surround you, to cascading down fucking crystals and invisible floors.

The second half blew my fucking mind because I thought I was just getting a great polished crawl through castles when everything just went to 100 and threw the most ridiculous designs ever at me (think of the butt dragons)

It was 4 in the morning at the time and I had been very depressed that day and spent all of it playing DS, that was the accumulation of the entire day of struggling through every inch of the game. Reaching that point was like a holy moment for me no matter how gay that sounds and I will never forget it.

If you only play once, Bloodborne. If replay value matters, Dark Souls.

DS3, BB is awesome but is way to overrated by sonniggers who didn't even played a single dark souls

I actually replayed BB more

I would almost say they are same/similar games and the only breaking point is the style/atmo/setting. So game wise, they are all on par and if you have the chance i would suggest you to play any of them and if you like one, you will probably like all others, even when some might be worse or not as new, you can still get enjoyment out of it because the gameplay doesn't really change in the end that much by each game, and gameplay is what matters first. and thats why the mess that is DaS3, is subjectively the worst

I like the gameplay of all souls games and they're fairly similar in that regard but just speaking of the setting, I prefer Dark Souls. It's like western high fantasy viewed from a remote third person view, liberated and free of all the cliches that have built up over the years. There's something uncanny to it that's really intriguing.

I think people blow out of proportion how bad the second half is. The only real stinker is Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith, the rest of the levels are overall average to pretty good. I'm probably one of the few people who likes New Londo, the atmosphere is unlike any other area in the game. Dukes is alright but admittedly tedious, and Tomb of the Giants is fantastic, the only part I hate is that you have to go through the Catacombs to reach it and I fucking hate the Catacombs.

Your kidding right? You can go through the entire game using only the starting straightsword. If you thought the R1 spam in BB was bad, DaS3 ramps it up 10 folds.

The only half decent level is undead settlement and Church of the Deep. Irythyll, Farron Swamp, Irythyll Dungeon, Lothric Castle, and Dreg Heap are easily some of the worst levels I have ever had the displeasure of playing through.

Loved DS1 for years. A couple days ago I just finished Bloodborne's DLC on NG+ for the first time on a friends' PS4 that I borrowed for a couple months.

This is not even a contest. Dark Souls is a much, much better game.

Bloodborne is great, and I heartily recommend it. But it is not nearly on the level that DaS1 is.

Also, anyone who says Bloodborne's quality doesn't drop off needs to reexamine the game. Everything post-Rom is hilariously easy. I was playing without a guide, and only died once to any of the last 5 bosses. Wasn't even Gehrman.

The One Reborn is this game's Bed of Chaos. What were they thinking with that thing?

Either way, both are great. The Old Hunters is god-tier. Almost as good as Artorias of the Abyss.

Even if it ran well and had decent load times, It wouldn't be as good.

DaS1 had a much stronger impact on the first playthrough, it was my first introduction to the souls series so I got my ass kicked pretty hard. The challenge of getting gud was half the fun. By the time I reached BB after playing DaS2 and 3 I was already experienced, so BB didn't have that "holy shit" level of surprise from getting 1 shot by being a baddie. In fact, you learn to expect it and not rush in to everything.

BB is still the better game though.
