It's not dead. I kinda love it and hate it. It can be amazing when everything goes well. It can also be a buggy and clunky piece of shit.
I still recommend it tho. It's not that expensive.
It's probably dope if you have some tacticool friends to play with as well.

Aus/NZ RO2 servers only died a few months ago. The RS2 community will be able to fill at least on server for years.

There's only five official maps in the game. However, workshop maps just started getting around but expect +100mb downloads of just one map.
