Were you as disappointed as I was?
Does it get better?
No, it was the Zelda game I wanted and more
However, it does get less interesting the longer you play it. If you don't have fun almost immediately you should probably drop it.
You ass blasted Sonybros need to stop posting this thread every fucking day. People like BOTW, get over it and stop with the "now that the dust has settled, we all agree this is a 5/10 at best right?" and "I totally thought I would like this game and am totally a Zelda fan and am totally disappointed" threads.
>>384648557
No
You're a retard
>>384648557
Yes, and no. Part of it is my fault for getting too hyped (I watched pretty much all the Treehouse footage), but I do think it lacked a lot of what I enjoy in Zelda, namely variety and quality dungeon content.
>>384648557
Yes, I suppose. It's still a great game, but the hype season made the game seem better than it ended up being.
>open world
>empty as fuck
>temples all the same
>shrines literally copy pasted
so this... is the peak... of nintendo
>>384648925
BOTW is the best game ever! only post positive threads circlejerking it. no bad mouthing it!!
>>384648557
wanted to give up after zora's domain
kept going and there was barely anything interesting going on. Good opening and then its flat line
>>384648557
I was more disapointed than you. I logged 90 hours into this game and I would still only give it a 7/10. The only parts that blew me away were the 3 race cities. The criminally small amount of story killed the game for me. Also, with one sentence Fi is more important to the whole game than even Zelda.

>console war Wojak
Just in case anyone thought that this was a thread legitimately intended to air out your grievances with this game and not yet another attempt to stir up console wars...
>weapon durability
>no blue ring
>no hookshot
jej
>>384648557
its so good idk what you guys are talking about.
The game actually exceeded my expectations considering I had no hope going into it.
>>384649308
>stop liking things I don't like!
>>384648557
No you're not alone. I'm done with the series after this. Not even gonna bother with the next installment.
>>384649276
how many copies did it sell again? i can't remember, could you remind me how much money they made off of this game again?
Best Sellers Past 12 Months:
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
Battlefield 1
NBA 2K17
Madden NFL 17
Grand Theft Auto V
FIFA 17
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
Final Fantasy XV
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild*
Overwatch
>everyone hypes up lynels as super hard encounters
>they telegraph their attacks so in advance than you can defeat them by abusing flurry attacks every single time.
>>384649610
>Sales dictates quality
Nintentards need to find new ammo. This is pathetic.
i put in 22 hrs before i got bored and stopped. boring af for me and those shrines were just dreadful
I legitimately hated the game for the first ten hours and now it's one of my favorite games of all time.
>>384649610
What does sales have to do with enjoyment of the game?
I'm a Pokemon fan and sun and moon the games sold 15.5 million in 6 months but the games I absolutely I hated it
Sales mean nothing
>>384649772
It will never not piss me off that Final Fantasy XV is on that list.
>>384649535
like what you want. im just tired of being accused of being a sonybro or someone who never played the game just because i disliked the damn thing.
>>384649276
Wouldn't say Nintendo, but its definitely the peak in open-world games currently.
>>384648557
We went from Skyward Sword to this... I seroiusly don't get how anyone can be dissappointed. It's such a tremendous improvement in every aspect.
>>384648557
I was probably more disappointed than you were and I wasn't even hyped for this game. No, it really doesn't get better. Zora's domain is the only good village of the four races and it's still kind of meh and too short. The game is the definition of buyer's remorse, especially for those cucks who bought a switch for it.
>>384650531
I liked the Rito village for being so cozy.
>>384650531
I feel like I'm the only one who liked the Goron city the best.
>>384648557
>Were you as disappointed as I was?
Probably not. This and Link Between Worlds revived my interest in Zelda after 15 years of lackluster games.
>Does it get better?
Don't know what point of the game you're at. But it got better for me the more I played. The stupid jungle section of the map being the only bad part.
After SS got rave reviews i stopped trusting any zelda review and set my expectations low by default.
BotW was alright i guess, but it feels like elder scrolls type of experience of fucking around aimlessly without the modding potential, i'd be down with a shrine remix mod that makes rooms more challeging or a mod that changes the shrines' look depending on the location you are at.
>>384648557
It'll be remembered as one of the worst Zelda games. On par with Skyward Sword for all the opposite reasons.
>>384648557
I would deal with at least two regions being cut down/out entirely if we could get some more towns or dungeons back in the mix.
>>384648557
Depends on how you play it, I guess. I'd say do t stress through it. there are a lot of memorable moments in the game.
I think that there being no objective markers on the map is fantastic for the exploration, but it also makes it easier to miss out on a LOT of stuff in the game.
I was playing a little the other day and was just running by the beach and suddenly I found an entire village by the shore. I've beaten the game and spent 120h in the world and would have never found this if I didn't have the DLC that shows you where you haven't explored yet.
It's pretty daring by the developers to design all this stuff without the guarantee that anyone will ever see it.
>>384648557
Nah man, I loved it.
Not a big Zelda fan and didn't give a shit about the story, but I love physics based games and the runes did not disappoint. I've had loads of fun just fucking around in the sandbox.
>>384648557
It was the zelda game I wanted since I started the series. I couldn't be disappointed.
>>384651323
how the fuck do you miss that village when its mentioned everywhere in the 1st, 2nd village
>>384651076
anon, you can't be this delusional. This game broke the infamous "zelda cycle".
>>384651558
I beat the whole game without ever finding out about the Bolson and Tarrey Town sidequest chains.
>>384651558
I didn't, and stil haven't, talk to most NPC. And those I did talk to I just click through the text without reading in irder to get the quest, the important parts will be in the quest log anyway.
>>384649535
>stop disliking things I like!
>>384651323
True, it's a blessing and a saint. I, unfortunately, had to read about Eventude Island to find it since I didn't pass it during my initial playthrough.
Would have been a lot cooler to find it by myself.
>>384651969
*blessing and a curse
>>384648557
Is there a way to export your normal mode savefile to master mode? I dont feel like starting all over again. In Cemu of course.
>>384651969
I landed on Eventide completely by accident just by fucking around with the paraglider. It's doable just by paragliding from that cliff overlooking Hateno if you have enough stamina.
>>384648557
it was good but lacking.
like we finally got some decent towns and a massive overworld but the dungeons sucked.
durability was a mess and not enough content in the overworld itself.
imagine if they instead took botw and tried to make a full zelda game from it rather than a barebones skyrim
>>384652570
Yeah there's a ton of stuff that can be improved, we're bound to get a "sequel" to this game though. Probably on Switch.
I imagine most of the development time went into constructing the world and designing/programming all the various physics systems and interactions for BotW.
Now they have a template to play around with and can focus on designing more intricate dungeon layouts etc. for the next game.
