I expected to hate Lyse like everyone else kept saying they did, but she grew on me.

I agree with you. Getting through the MSQ in Final Fantasy XIV was the worst part of the game and having done it, I wish I had just skipped the game entirely. But since I did it, I'm enjoying the dungeon runs and gathering. Once I cap gathering classes though, I'll probably quit the game and go back to single player RPGs. Won't try any MMO ever again unless Dragon Quest X magically comes out. Or someone is able to make an MMO that actually is total free roaming. Like SWG or RO, but with good combat and gathering.

So I'm leveling SCH again since they 'fixed' it and it still doesn't feel...great. I guess because I'm so used to throwing out the occasional adloquium, which is still kind of worthless compared to Nocturnal Benefic, especially for the cost.

I have the impossible dream that DRGs will get actual jumps instead of horizontal slides that keep their hitbox on the ground. Most of the classes I play feel somewhat right, BRD, PLD, NIN, WAR (although it's undertuned) AST and so forth.

But DRG just feels kinda dumb.

In just about every single modern MMO, it is faster to level by solo grinding quests than by grouping with strangers around you.

The reasons that encouraged people to group in the past (class/crafting interdependence, tough death penalty, harder monsters, group xp bonuses) don't exist in modern MMOs.

The ONLY time people group in a modern MMO is going into random instances with a tiny group of people. Hardly massively multiplayer like the public dungeons of older MMOs used to be, where multiple groups could form or unform and play together in shared space.

In a modern MMO you grab your !! quest grind and go down the linear solo path. Grouping would only slow you down, and quests would actively pull you apart.

You just need luck, yesterday I got into a PF and as soon as I got in they wrote in chat the discord link, I went and found the nice surprise that it's a pug oriented discord channel, everyone there met through PF and we use it to form some sort of semi-static. Yesterday we got O2S to 50% and today we cleared it after a couple of hours.

You can do the same, make a pug oriented Discord and work from there, this one is till pretty new with 16 members around, and if someone can't make it, we go into PF and recruit some more

5 friends started playing after seeing me play, even with the exp boost they only got to level 20 and then quit, despite knowing how MMOs get better in the long run.

I'm sick of fighting on a circle with no railing.

Have fights in a square room with breakable pillars, and when the boss breaks all pillars the floor collapses and the second phase starts underground or something, like Undead Burg.

Or have a tower that players have to climb while it floods or something I don't know.
Just a way for the raid mechanics to play off of the environment and have the party feel like it's progressing through the raid dungeons.

It's absolute minimum damage is 5000 at max distance which is one corner to another. PLD Divine Veil would go up before impact.
