They changed some of the character faces like Sun Jian and Diaochan though. Diaochan kinda looks like Zhen Ji here.

Now, if they can resist every other line being about benevolence, we might have a winner.

The last Dynasty Warriors I played was 3 on the PS2. I tried tracking down a sequel (6 or 7, maybe?) but it was really expensive. Is the series still fun these days? I heard there were some down years.

The down years you're talking about is probably 6 and Strikeforce. Avoid those

they fell for the open world meme. that's NOT what dw needs to be taken into the modern world and be a decent series

i am glad the characters have their more classic outfit designs but that's not enough

From what I heard it isn't really that bad. There is an open hub world with multiple battles taking place and you move across the hub world to choose which battles to take part in. That's all.
