I think of Zandora as a mode of transportation for team mates. I save my speed boost for moving my team around as a pack from objective to objective, refreshing them with heals and buffs for when enemies stop by. Her damage is a nagging persistence if you get the beam upgrade on her LMB, it's not as strong as your melee combo (I don't think) but you'll still have access to it, and it'll help you damage heroes with more vertical movement options, as well as keeping track of enemies in hectic situations.

Signal to your team to take the wound and always save your focus for that moment, whether it's for going in, or for escapes.

Aisling can kind of do a little bit of everything which is convenient since you can't see the enemy team. She can back up your melee attackers and tank a bit of damage in sword form or she can be a weaker ranged attacker who buffs her team. Candor can beef up your team with damage/armor buffs and he's got a really gigantic shield that can buy your team a lot of time.
Sure she's a little weak at any one role, but I think a flexible character that uses the talent system to the fullest is pretty cool.

Aisling seems infinitely better with her ranged attack. Just let Cador go in and harass.

There aren't lanes though. The only thing this game has in common are "towers", which are creatures, which are infinitely more interesting and dynamic it's barely worth comparing the two. And the guardians serve kind of as the "fountain", in that if you dive it you'll probably die.
