Some games don't perform properly on emulators, or the requirements to run them may be higher. Also, some consoles don't have proper emulation at all (original Xbox, for example).

Beyond that, emulators are almost always going to provide a superior gaming experience, and anyone who says otherwise is stuck in rose-tinted nostalgia.
